Working along with Engelberth Construction, Inc
Kingsbury Companies worked directly for the Owner – GMVS as a General Site Contractor coordinating between the Owner and the Owners Building Contractor Engelberth Construction, Inc.
GMVS’s New Sports Complex
Work included the excavation, backfill and utility infrastructure to GMVS’s new Sports Complex along with parking expansion & improvements and the expansion and reconstruction of GMVS’s Athletic Field. Work Commenced in December of 2013 with the building shell being constructed through the winter/ spring and infrastructure (water, sewer drainage parking & athletic field) being completed in the summer & fall.
Design/build with McCain Associates
Kingsbury Companies work included much design/ build with the Owner’s engineer, McCain Associates. The Athletic Field reconstruction was an afterthought requiring massive excavation of the bank bordering Moulton Road with a terraced and rip rapped slope. It also required an underdrain system in that slope and diversion of existing storm water drainage coming off of Moulton Road.
Athletic Field Grading
The grading for the athletic field was redesigned to drain in 4 directions similar to a ‘hip’ roof. Grade control of the athletic field was accomplished by satellite global positioning. Project was completed late in 2014 with the exception of the final lift of pavement.
Demolition of the Old Gym
Engelberth Construction was to renovate the old gym requiring the new parking area as a set down area. Therefore in the best interest of the Owner, top lift of pavement scheduled for spring of 2015 so as to eliminate any blemishes caused by ongoing construction work.
